All of our panel board materials meet or exceed industry standards and are certified to CARB II. The beauty, long life and sustainability of wood products are a powerful combination that allows you to create the look you want in your home with the peace of mind that the products you use are part of a very successful sustainable products process. Wood is a truly renewable resource, and through a rigorous re-planting and forest management processes, hardwood forest inventories are on the rise. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. These are the basis of Westridge’s daily commitment to the environment. Through a variety of work practices and continual re-engineering, Westridge is able to minimize its impact on the environment each and every day.
ReduceWestridge utilizes optimization software to reduce waste from its cutting and edge finishing processes. This technology enables the manufactureof custom sized cabinets while reducing product waste to levels normally associated with mass production runs. Sheet Optimization reduces purchases by up to 20% Westridge is actively managing its carbon emissions through control of the energy we use each day. Energy efficient lighting and programmable thermostats are used in all our facilities. Use of web conferencing has greatly reduced the travel mileage between our branches across Alberta. Web conferencing saves over 100,000 km of car travel per year. ReuseIn partnership with the County of Red Deer, all of Westridge’s saw dust is used to maintain roads at the regional landfill facility.over 400 tons of sawdust reused each year All solvent waste is recycled and re-used in production. Reduces new product purchases by 84% Westridge reuses hardwood and veneer cutoffs into smaller components wherever possible. Westridge re-uses all lumber and panel packaging systems.
