Transitional
Transitional styling can be described as a blend or balance of traditional and contemporary styles. This clean, distinctive style is enduring and is likely the most popular design direction among customers and designers alike. Transitional environments tend to project a deliberate and uncluttered feel without sacrificing warmth.
Color palettes tend to be subtle and uncomplicated with an emphasis on ivory, taupe, beige, and tan, while warm browns to deep chocolates are typically favored for cabinetry. Painted or “solid stain” cabinetry is also an alternative that is growing in popularity. Shaker and Mission door styles are often a staple in Transitional styled cabinetry.
Hardware and appliance selections typically favor but are not limited to a contrasting and sophisticated metallic flavor such as brushed nickel and stainless steel.
